Meerbot tracks the web pages you ask it to watch and tells your AI assistant when they change. This page describes what Meerbot does with the data you give it.
What Meerbot stores
- Your tracked pages. The URL, name, extraction settings, your free-text filtering instructions, and timestamps showing when the page was last checked or last changed.
- Snapshot history. The text Meerbot extracts from each page on each capture, plus metadata (timestamp, content size, HTTP status, final URL after redirects).
- Summaries you record. The text and the window of snapshots they cover. Meerbot does not call third-party LLMs to generate these — your AI assistant drafts the summary and records it into Meerbot, so the page text never leaves the server for summarization.
- Sign-in state. Your Google email after you sign in, plus the short-lived bookkeeping needed for the OAuth flow and for any AI clients you connect to your account.
How you sign in
Sign-in is via Google. Meerbot never sees your password, only the Google email Google confirms back to it. Access is by invitation: only emails that have been added to the access list can sign in.
Sessions and tokens
When you sign in to the website, Meerbot sets a 7-day session cookie that's HTTP-only, same-site, and HTTPS-only. Signing out clears it immediately. AI clients connected to your account get short-lived (1-hour) access tokens that are refreshed automatically without re-prompting.
Other users on this instance
Every record Meerbot stores is tagged with the account that created it, and every read or write is scoped to your account. Other people who sign in to Meerbot cannot see your tracked pages, snapshots, or summaries.
Analytics
Meerbot uses Mixpanel to track product usage events — when a page is tracked or untracked, when a snapshot is recorded, when a summary is recorded. Each event carries your email and operational metadata (page id, host, content size, summary length, model name). Events do not carry the tracked URL, your filtering instructions, or the captured page text.
Third-party trackers
The Meerbot website itself loads no third-party analytics or advertising scripts. The only outbound calls from the page are to the Meerbot backend.
Retention
Snapshots older than 365 days are evicted automatically, and per-page snapshot storage is capped at 50 MB. The most recent snapshot of each page is always kept, regardless of age or size, so you never lose your current baseline.
Deleting your data
Asking your AI assistant to stop tracking a page deletes that page along with its snapshots and summaries. To remove everything tied to your account, get in touch (see below).
